The vending machine toppled over on him when he was shaking it.

My father was in the hospital, and I stopped by to visit him. I hadn’t eaten supper yet, so I walked down to the vending machines to get something to snack on. There was a teenaged boy shaking one of the vending machines, trying to get an item for free. He saw me standing there, but it didn’t deter him from his efforts to get free food from the machine. He continued to shake the machine, and soon it toppled over on him. He fell to the ground, and the machine fell on top of him. Personnel from the emergency room heard the commotion and came out to see what was going on. They lifted the machine off of him, and they placed him on a stretcher to take him in to the emergency room to be examined by a doctor.
